Cumberland Valley field hockey shut out Dallastown 4-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 28, behind a hat trick from Marissa Muza in the District 3 Class 3A first round at Eagle View.
Muza opened the scoring in the first quarter, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead with 10:27 remaining, as first reported by PA Preps reporter Christian Eby.
Cumberland Valley carried that lead into the remainder of the game and finished with four goals while keeping Dallastown off the scoreboard.
Muza accounted for three of the Eagles' four goals, according to Eby's final game report.
The result sends Cumberland Valley into the District 3 Class 3A quarterfinals against Mechanicsburg on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park, according to the MaxPreps matchup schedule.
The teams met twice during the regular season. Mechanicsburg won 4-1 on Sept. 8 and 5-2 on Sept. 28, according to Cumberland Valley's season results.
Saturday's winner will advance in the district tournament.
